Teams Are An Integral Part Of Most Business Situations
In all employment situations, there will be circumstances where an employee will find themselves on a team with a specific problem to solve or goal to reach. Teams are an integral part of most business situations. Leadership within the respective organization often creates teams. The way that the leadership interacts with the teams can affect how cohesive the team is and if they reach their goals. These two groups can cause a business to succeed or fail. Teams Utilizing teamwork has been a key to the success of our military for many years. The most effective of these is the cross-functional team. This is a team comprised of, ââ¬Å"employees from about the same hierarchical level, but from different work areas, who come together to accomplish a task.â⬠(Robbins Judge, 2009) One of these teams I was a part of was involved in ensuring a large multi-agency training event occurred without any problems. This event involved the Active Army, Army Reserves, Army National Guard, Active Air Force, Air Force National Guard, Marine Corps, local fire departments, local law enforcement agencies, and the Departments of Emergency Management from multiple states. It had national military and civilian leaders that came to watch the outcome. This extremely high stress situation was accomplished through teamwork and planning. The event was checking the response of the agencies to a natural disaster situation.
